I've contacted most of the winners, but one of them didn't have a blog or email address linked to their comment. "Mama" (comment #42) please send me your mailing address and I will have the publisher send the book your way!
I found an interesting article from Time magazine written yesterday about Melissa Cheyney, an assistant professor of anthropology and midwife, who's working to bridge the gap between obstetricians and midwives. http://www.time.com/time/health/article/0,8599,1898316,00.html
Sarah, It's really interesting, isn't it? Nothing too surprising, but it's the first time someone has actually formally studied OB-MW conflict. I hope that their model for collaboration can help bridge the mistrust and misunderstandings so that birthing women can get better care.
