Though I gotta tell you, I LOVE my La Bassine, it was wonderful, even for a short gal like me. =)sneakmastergeneralhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16527257956680462981noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20642800.post-60424259442953152122008-01-17T22:34:00.000-05:002008-01-17T22:34:00.000-05:00Unfortunately I've heard rumors that the Sevylor i...Unfortunately I've heard rumors that the Sevylor is going to be discontinued shortly. Boo! I ended up ordering a La Bassine and can't wait to give it a test run. Birth Pool in a Box is also gaining popularity, it's "mini" model is also cheaper than a La Bassine (although not nearly as cheap as the Sevylor or the fishy pools). MDC has a GREAT sticky in the Homebirth forum about different pool options and equipment for home water births.Laurenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11903428524066550435noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20642800.post-13878158106331837732008-01-16T17:27:00.000-05:002008-01-16T17:27:00.000-05:00I have used both. As a midwife, I used the Sevylor for years and really liked them (for the price and the sturdiness) but then I couldn't find them for a long while, I heard Sevylor doesn't make the 60in size, which was my favorite. But I love the La Bassine. I think it is just as sturdy and it's deeper for the taller mommas.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08655526328898463813noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20642800.post-39236938104411702672008-01-16T15:41:00.000-05:002008-01-16T15:41:00.000-05:00I must say I absolutely LOOOOOVE my La Bassine. It bought it from a friend, and even split the cost with another friend. Now I lend it out. It has caught 4 babies so far...Christinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18398692451863179815noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20642800.post-65735849247466385062008-01-16T14:57:00.000-05:002008-01-16T14:57:00.000-05:00thanks, Rixa! It was the perfect height to sit in and rest my head against the edge. It is also very sturdy, and has a wonderful padded bottom. However when the time came I felt I actually wanted something MORE confining (it is quite roomy and there's just something about being drawn to labor in the bathroom), and the very warm water made me a little dizzy. I wanted to be in the shower, but I had the shower nozzle hooked up to the hose to fill the pool! Oh well. :pAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20642800.post-38110410177922214282008-01-15T00:56:00.000-05:002008-01-15T00:56:00.000-05:00When I ordered my fishy pool for my son's birth, i...When I ordered my fishy pool for my son's birth, it was more blue and didn't have "Ideal for birthing and baptismal purposes" listed in the description! All my flooding was in the kitchen, on the linoleum, and someone else cleaned it up, so it wasn't a big problem. ;-) (The pool didn't break, but there was some overflow when I leaned back too far/hard a couple times.)

I think you'd really notice the 25 gallons missing from the Sevylor pool.jakesaskhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12118815704398853622noreply@blogger.com
