When I started writing my
Labor & Marathons post, I had this nagging feeling that it was going to make me go out and
do something. Sure enough, I inspired myself so much that I have started training for a half marathon! I am using
The Non-Runner's Marathon Trainer and just finished the second week's schedule (16 miles total). I ran 6 miles this morning, mostly on trails in the woods on the outskirts of town. In 7 more weeks I should be up to 13 miles!
Way to go Rixa! Running is addicting!
ReplyDeleteYay! I love that book. That's the method Brittany and I used to train for our first marathon. I love it because it isn't some crazy schedule that you have to follow, but actually quite simple.
ReplyDeleteI remember freaking out every Saturday morning as I contemplated how far I had to run that day, but by the next day it was no big deal. "Oh, 8 miles, or 10 miles, or 12 miles? No big deal. I can do that." Of course, it seems like a big deal now since it's been over 3 years since I did that. :) Maybe I should start running again, too.
Good for you. It's amazing how good running feels, especially when you get up past 20 miles a week. :)
I haven't ran, ever, since I was in sports as a middle and high schooler.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if I could start...
