Dr. Denise Punger, a family physician and IBCLC in Florida, recently published a book called
Permission to Mother. She and her husband, an osteopathic physician, work together in a
private practice. Her book is available on
Amazon and
Barnes & Noble, as well as an
e-book (only $5!) on her publisher's website. This is definitely going on my wish list!
Thanks for posting this. I'm looking forward to reading it as well, because I remember how domineering hospital staff are, that I didn't feel that I had "permission to mother" my child. Anecdote: I was not trusted to hold my baby in my arms and walk with him. He had to be wheeled in the bassinet provided by the hospital. And my thought was: and they're going to trust me to take this child home with me?
