Burial

  1. My condolences. Pets are family members too, and it's so hard to lose them, especially so suddenly. I still cry sometimes about the dog I lost 6 years ago. He was my best friend.

    R.I.P. Beloved Zeke.

  7. I'm so sorry for your loss. This past week we lost our dog as well, Hellga. We buried her in our backyard too. This post had me crying again, as we too have an infant who will now not get to play with the pup. But somehow I think Zeke and Hellga are living it up, chasing squirrels together somewhere! --Kerry

  9. I'm so sorry to hear about this tragedy. You were lucky to have Zeke in your life, and I'm sure he's waiting at the Rainbow Bridge.

  10. Dear Rixa, I just want to let you know you guys have been in my thoughts all day and I even went to bed sending you loving thoughts.

I've also had the experience of mourning the loss *for* your baby who doesn't quite understand yet and would not grow up with the family pet. We lost both our cats while G was just Zari's age. It's a sadness I couldn't have imagined beforehand...

  11. I'm sorry about Zeke, too.

I've never been that attached to a pet, but my mom recently got a dog to help deal with her rapidly-emptying nest. The difference in her attitude, energy level, and face were amazing. Thank goodness for good pets!

  13. :( Oh no! I'm so sorry Rixa. We lost our 14-year-old golden retriever a little over a year ago, so I can relate a little bit to the pain you must be feeling right now. With our dog it wasn't unexpected because he was very, very old, so I am sure losing a beloved family member so suddenly must be much worse.

  15. Zeke looked like a lovely lovely member of your family and I am sorry for you that he has gone on.

    Tears in my eyes too.

There will be a lot of getting over this, but in time your heart will settle..it's such a shock, I know, and so sad trying to live a life without Zeke in it, but in time you will come to terms.

  19. I have enjoyed reading your posts for some time now, and as a complete stranger, it feels sorta weird to offer my condolences. But that being said, I'm really saddened by your loss. I wish sweet healing for your family.

  20. Rixa,

I was just stopping by to see how you all are doing since Zeke so sadly passed. I wanted to tell you again how sorry I am for your loss, it's so true that pets are most definitely family members. What a beautiful dog Zeke was and always will be...thank you for sharing your photos, they are sad to see but I am glad that you are sharing them. I hope that Zeke finds Birdie somewhere out there in the universe!

    Much Love,
    Erin
