Another long day renovating...I removed the metal grill on the transom window above the front door. Sadly, we have to cover this window up because it's the location of the future shower. I hate reducing any light but there was no other place for the shower that made sense.
I filled in the empty window frame with drywall, then added a few more layers of insulated drywall to bring the window opening back to the original thickness of the wall above it. Then at the end of the day, I installed the full sheet of green drywall to become one of the shower walls. So now we have both shower walls up and we're ready for the waterproofing treatment!
I also did more wiring, more cutting channels, more jackhammering, more plastering in wires with MAP. I'm really pleased with the progress, considering that 1 year ago today we were just putting up the ledgerboards for the mezzanine in Le Catamaran. We hadn't done any other construction at all and still had a lot of demolition left. No electrical, no plumbing, rien.
The rest of the afternoon and evening was dinner, homework, piano lessons, and bedtime. Plus breech stuff of course.
We have a few kids' passports to renew, so I've been filling out applicataions, photocopying documents, and taking passport photos.
