All three kids spent a good 2+ hours this afternoon playing with buckets of water, measuring cups, and soup ladles. Don't believe all of the glitzy toy marketing; your kids will be happiest with things that cost the least.
That's what we use as a "water table" as too! Between the water and the sandbox my son hasn't really come inside the last few days except to eat and nap :)
We did that yesterday too. It is amazing that they can't play with the same toy for more than a few minutes but can play with a cup and a bucket of water for an hour.
I do this all the time when I need a distraction to get dinner ready. I actually got the idea when I couldn't get her to stop playing with the dog's water bowl! I put down a large towel and fill my largest roasting pan with an inch or two of water. My daughter loves it!

ReplyDeleteI have used the bowl of water and measuring cups with both kids and it is truly the best summer toy ever!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! I'm saving it for when it gets warmer for sure.
ReplyDeleteBTW I love Inga's chubby little feet! :D

ReplyDeleteWe don't need much to have fun when we are young. Lol.
