1,100 pieces of candy

And we still ran out!

Our street is THE place to go on Halloween--apparently people come from all over the county to trick-or-treat on our street. When we moved in, the neighbors all warned us to "be prepared for Halloween." So I bought over 1,1000 pieces of candy at Sam's Club and thought we were good to go. I have never in my life seen anything like this before--the sidewalks on both sides of the street were packed. We often had a line up at our house. And if you're handing out candy, you don't bother to stay in the house. You sit on your porch and hand it out as fast as you can.

We brought Zari up and down the street, and then she helped me hand out candy to trick-or-treaters. By the end she was saying "trick or treat" every time she gave a piece away.

  2. That's a direct contrast to what we saw last night. We didn't have anybody come to our house even though we were prepared, and we saw very few groups of trick-or-treaters on the streets. We decided not to go around our complex, but met up with several families in another neighborhood. I was shocked to see how few trick-or-treaters were out.

I love how that costume is growing with Zari. She was adorable last year, and more so this year. Those pigtails are so cute. I can't wait for Rachel to get some hair. :)

  3. We didn't celebrate this year as our house is set a ways back from the street and my son just turned one. However, I am looking forward to costumes and the activites next year! (and little girl dresses, yours are so cute!)

  5. what a cutie!

i have trick-or-treater envy. we only had about 25 people come to our door, and only a handful of them bothered with costumes. i think next year i need a sign that says 'no costume - no candy!'
