Spéculoos spectaculaire

My mom has been making bitter orange marmalade and tomorrow we're going to gather prickly pear cactus fruit. She has a marmalade recipe that doesn't use any pith, just the zest, and it's like eating a bite of sunshine.

Eric has to attend a Cavigal game tomorrow as a coach, but none of the kids are playing. Inga got injured this week so she can't play for another 10 days or so.

I heard Dio say the other day, while eating a spéculoos cookie (similar to a gingersnap), "Ce spéculoos est spectaculaire!"

He also got a 20/20 on a recent French assignment, an oral presentation relating a 16th century political essay to the Trump regime. His teacher kept complimenting him in class after his presentation. It's so weird how teachers are here. 95% of the time they tell the kids that they're completely horrible and single them out in front of the class for incompetence. And then occasionally they single kids out for doing well. Either way it's probably quite uncomfortable!
