French quarantine day 45

10,157 steps

What did we cook/bake today?
1. Cinnamon rolls
2. Artisan bread (doing a long overnight fermentation in the fridge)
3. Tiramisu (well, technically we made it yesterday and started eating it today)

During our post-dinner walk, we ran into a group of friends, all of whose children go to the same school with ours. I joked, "Welcome to recess!" Our family and a few friends had a rousing game of 3-on-3 soccer.

Inga has been working on her soccer ball handling skills. Yesterday she did 10 juggles in a row without the ball touching the ground! Then she did 14. Today she managed to do 10+ several times in a row. She's very excited because she earned 10 Euros from this accomplishment.

(Two years ago, Eric announced that he would pay each child 10 Euros once they could do 10 in a row while he was watching. Dio worked and worked and earned his within a few weeks. Zari did it last year. Now Ivy is the only one left out.)

Ivy wants me to make her a spell book: a handmade leatherbound book with an embossed leather cover. (We watched a tutorial a few weeks back and it popped up in her head today). The funny thing is--I could actually make one start to finish if I had the supplies. I took bookbinding classes as both an undergrad & grad student.

  1. Those cinnamon rolls look so good! I love how many layers there are to each roll! I only ever get 3-4 layers in each roll.
