Eric and I were gone all day at a soccer tournament. They've had way too many this year.
In the afternoon, we made 4 batches of homemade pasta dough. A few weeks ago, I was at a thrift store and found a pasta machine from the 1970s--the exact same brand and box and everything as I had growing up! I had to buy it. I have so many memories of using the pasta machine when I was little. This was our first time trying it out.
We also made a big batch of homemade pesto with sundried tomatoes with basil grown in my hydroponic countertop garden. The one thing I miss, living here in France, is gardening. My little hydroponic system fills that gap just a little bit.
After dinner, it was time to swim. Zari came along, plus my friend and her nephew. The sea was as flat and calm as a lake and super clear.
We rinsed off, came home, and then walked up to the Chateau for the fête du Château, sponsored by the PCF (French Communist Party). It was the first time I've ever been up there at night, since it normally closes in the evening. There was music, food, and of course tons of booths about various PCF causes (transportation, housing, Palestine, etc.).
Also a photo from yesterday of Ivy sleeping on a row of chairs, post-sleepover.
