Slave labor

With much grumbling--some real, some good-natured--we worked over at one of our rental apartments this morning. Everything is covered with sticky bits of who knows what, so the goal today was to spray, scrub, and rinse all of the woodwork. It's no small feat given all of the intricate cracks and moldings!

This picture is from a long time ago before we took the carpet out...but see all that woodwork? All those tiny window panes? So much stuff to scrub and clean!

Eric couldn't convince any of the kids to go to the university soccer game. So he went alone and had a good time. I did some last yard work before the rain came. It's been probably a month since it's rained and much of the state is in a drought. We are so glad to finally have rain again! My thrifted rain barrel is already full and overflowing.

We watched a movie together this evening.

Zari sent me a picture of what she made (hardboiled eggs, green beans, fish), and I sent her a picture of what Eric made (orzo & bean salad).
